About Al Iannuzzi
Al is Senior Director of Worldwide Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability at Johnson & Johnson and leads the Global Product Stewardship program. He has over 30 years’ experience in the EHS field and developed and leads EARTHWARDS®; Johnson & Johnson’s innovation and greener product development approach. He is the author of the books, Greener Products: the Making & Marketing of Sustainable Brands (CRC Press 2011), Industry Self-regulations & Voluntary Environmental Compliance (CRC Press 2002) and is an adjunct professor for Indiana University; teaching on sustainability & product improvement.
Prior to J&J, Al worked for the NJ Department of Environmental Protection and at an environmental consulting firm. Al received his Ph.D. degree in Environmental Policy from the Union Institute & University in Cincinnati where he researched EHS self-regulation programs. He is the author of the books, Greener Products: the Making & Marketing of Sustainable Brands (CRC Press 2011) and “Industry Self-Regulation and Voluntary Environmental Compliance” (CRC Press, 2002) and has written numerous articles on product stewardship and environmental compliance.
Al has lectured at top universities on sustainability: Columbia, Harvard, Cornell, Duke, Villanova, University of Pennsylvania, Indiana, Vanderbilt, Yale, Rutgers and others.
